Coming Soon: Basic Needs Program
Basic Needs Support & Single Stop Software Coming Soon!
The Office of the Dean of Students has implemented a basic needs program. We hope to extend student support beyond just food insecurity to include all basic needs as well. Through our Basic Needs Coordinator, we are able to provide resource referrals to on and off campus supports as well as have problem solving and skill building conversations with students to create sustainable solutions. If you are currently facing basic needs insecurity, please reach out to our Basic Needs Coordinator, Amber Gilson, directly at agilson@uccs.edu, call the Office of the Dean of Students at (719) 255-3091, or submit a CARE Concern.
As a part of this larger focus on basic needs, UCCS will be partnering with Single Stop a software that connects students to state and federal benefit programs. To see eligible benefits, students just need to complete a 10-15 minute benefit screener through our unique UCCS Single Stop link. Single Stop also provides various community resource options based on location and specific needs. We expect Single Stop to be fully implemented by the start of the Fall 2023 semester, so stay tuned for our UCCS Single Stop link to go live.
We are excited to bring these new supports to our UCCS Mountain Lions.

About the Cupboard
Clyde’s Cupboard is a 100% donation based and non-need based food pantry that provides free food and toiletries for all enrolled UCCS students.
In a recent NCHA-ACHA survey done at UCCS, nearly a quarter of UCCS students reported they are facing food insecurity, meaning they have missed meals because of lack of funds or have faced hard choices between paying bills or buying groceries.
Clyde’s Cupboard aims to help those students in need but to also make all students feel safe and comfortable to visit and utilize our services.
